Yes they had a recall on holley carbs 0n 2007 and 2008 had mine replaced under warranty . if you look at the serial number call a dealer and ask if its under warranty.

Yep tried that but I think the service in this area is poor at best. He hit me with "your a second owner the recall doesn't apply" I then explained that this was a safety recall and pointed out that fire could result. All he wanted to do was argue.

Doesn't matter anyway it's up and running. No hesitation. I did notice a 4200rpm at wot, about 45 mph. It's higher than it was, but it prob because it's getting the right amount of fuel now but I really have no idea.

At the end of he year I will have someone in GR take a look.

Yup, I bet with tuned jetting and maybe a little timing advance we can get him closer to 50mph, he's got enough RPM's left.

Ric,

With an injected boat, you'll get bored of no longer wrenching & have to take up stamp collecting! :P

100% opposite, with an injected boat I'll be able to plug my tablet in and fine tune it even more horsepower without getting dirty. Make different maps for E10 or Marine gas, etc. Once E85 gets more common the end goal will be making an E85 map but it might require a bigger fuel pump/injectors which are very cheap.

E10 tuned right on a 5.7GXi I have no doubt you can go from OEM 320hp to at least 350hp.

Ethanol in performance cars over here (called E85) is phenominal.
The only difficulty I see with boats, is monitoring AFR's with a wideband in a wet exhaust...
Plug chops often give false readings with E85 - due to to how clean it burns.
I'm always of the belief of 'simplicity is key' on boats...
Good luck, mate!

Carbs are good once you get them set up correctly. but I am glad i have a GXI now.

No more carbs for anything I drive: Bike, Boat, Truck, Car, etc... hell even my Pressure washer is Fuel injected with a Subaru engine

I suppose I should change the plugs. Run it a bit and then pull. I take it 42 isn't up to its potential. The speedo bounces between 42 & 45 I just took the lower number.

Anyway Seems fast enough to me. I was happy that it started and ran.
