I have a 135 HP Mercruiser with an Alpha One leg. I have installed the hydrofoi (Permatrim) on the leg.
My question is, can the trim and tilt be adjusted so as not to reach maximum 'up' tilt and NOT hit the hydrofoil?

Good question, sorry I don't know.

I tred the hydrofoil on my first boat (a 19' bayliner), it really don't work that well!! I would use "smart tabs" they work far better!

Hi all, can anyone answer this question? Can the tilt and trim be adjusted so as not to rise as far up.

Cheers

I believe one of the trim sending switches is for the limit and the other is for the guage. I guess you could play with the adjustment so that it is adjusted higher causing the pump to stop earlier.
But I am not sure 100%. it wont hurt anything by trying. If moving one makes the guage react then try the other.

if this works then put the drive all the way down and then adjust the guage sender till it is at the bottem of the indicator.....you will need the key on to see the guage work

The trim limit does not work that way, the trim limit switch is only for that, trim limit. When you go past that into trailer mode the drive goes up until the trim cylinders reach the maximum extension. Volvo Penta actually has spacers that go in their cylinders to keep the drive from going up to high but I do not believe they will work in a Merc cylinder though I have never tried.
