Took boat out on saturday for a 44 mile cruise. Ran fine below 4000 rpm. When I went to WOT it then began to sound and feel like it was missing abit and running rough. When I back the throttle down, it continued. When I stopped and then started again, ran fine once again until I did WOT.

Suggestions / solutions??

Don't go WOT. Hehe.... :P

If it was a car, I would say it was a timing issue. Still could be "spark" related tho. Check your plugs, wires, and rotor.

Rough at WOT is usually spark related. Either gap is too big on the plugs or the coil is growing old. But don't rule out a bad cap/rotor.

My buddy had the same problem last week. His starboard engine would not go above 3700 RPM's. Turns out water was getting into the motor. The exhaust is being changed this week and it appears he caught it in time. Check your exhaust.
