That part is the whole throttle arm which looks by the picture to have an integrated sensor #16

I think you could easily do this yourself but since you had these guys work on it a first time I agree they should get it right.

I think you're right, on both accounts. My only dilema is towing it back down there. About $80 there and back. The part is going to be in on Monday and I plan to talk to the service manager about whether I should just change it myself.

Kinda strange that you can't buy this part online.

cincy,

if your within 2 years warranty the part. i know this could be a problem since the dealers can take weeks with the boat but your may do the warranty for you and allow you to put it in. I'm pretty certain you can do this within an hour.

One other thing if you really think your ECM alert is due to electrical check out the canon plug main harness and make sure that it is sitting nice and tight. This was causing me endless grief!

I have a 5.0 so it may be in a different location for you but on the starboard rear top side of my engine is the canon plug which is the main harness that connects all of your boat wiring (gauges, trim, etc) to the engine.

Thanks. I'll take a look at those too. This is the alleged culprit. Took me all of 2 minutes to remove including removal of the engine cover. I'm having my dealer send me the new one. No point in hauling it down there at the cost of $80 plus labor for them to do 2 minutes worth of work. Hopefully, this will resolve it. It acted up at the beginning of the day on saturday but was then fine all weekend.
