yea i dont think i can get that around here, besides that sunoco race fuel which is really expensive, it runs great on regular gas, it just wont idle that low, maybe i'll try a carb rebuild later in the year, have you guys heard anything about the fuel injection kits? are they any good, or worth it?

I think you are realistically at the lowest rpms that you can achieve with the 3.0. My previous volvo and my current merc won't go any lower than that without chuging, sputtering and ultimately stalling. The engine has such a varying range of "idle" rpms depending on the boat being hot, cold, just coming off plane or being started after sitting for a while. The idle depending on the situation can vary by a few hundred rpm. With the fiddling I have done, I have accepted 800 rpm on the tach as the absolute lowest I can get. I wouldn't be surprised if the dash tach reads a bit higher as well, so keep that in mind as possible too.

oh, that's good to hear, because i mean it runs really really good, and it sounds good too, at idle it doesnt sound overly loud and idling out of an idle rpm range, so i think that's just how it is, i'm gonna take it out this week and see how it acts on the water.
