i noticed a huge difference in ride over choppy water or when big boats passed in my buddies boat this weekend vs. the weekend before when they werent on the boat. its a novel concept and i like the fact they are constantly adjusting. im excited but theyll have to wait till winter when i install a custom swim platform and a custom low profile wakeboard tower.

I generally agree that they should not be required on a 16 foot boat.

I have them on my 240 and they are very helpful when in the Ocean or when trimming for an off center load.

However --- put six or eight people in your 16 foot boat and you might find them very useful (assuming your capacity plate allows that many people)

Dale I was thinking of getting some on my H220 you say it's good for the ocean and since we are both in South FLorida I was wondering do they keep your bow high all the time while running or what exactly do you enjoy about them.

Does anyone have photos of your smart tab installation? I'm wondering how to put them on given the stepped hull design.

They are nice and the video is very informative but they are made for a boat with a max hp rating of 250

I didn't see any photos of a FW like ours. The issue is mounting them on the transom without a binding issue.

Just my 2 cents worth. My first family boat purchased in 1990 was a 16' 1962 regal with an OMC I/O. I put Bennet trim tabs on it and the boat came on plane at 5 - 10 mph slower than without them. :) On plane it made it very easy to level the boat, no matter were people wanted to sit. And it greatly improved the ability to "trim out" on plane for optimum performance, or ride based on the wave conditions.
Trim tabs are well worth it!!
