I had a problem getting mine primed when I first got the boat....Never seen this before.
Put muffs on boat, turned on hose. waited about 2 to 3 minutes and started the engine.
waited for some water to come out, no flow. squeezed the muffs to the drive while the engine was running to try to get flow and still no success....WTF
Motor was starting to build heat so i shut it down. actually ran only about 4 to 5 minutes.
got in the boat and removed the intake line that goes from the power steering cooler to the engine/gooseneck. tried to blow air down the tube toward the intake and it was plugged.
took the garden hose and hooked it to the hose and back flushed the intake tube...I took some pressure but it blew out what ever was in there....
Hooked everything back up and got flow through the engine..

So I did exactly as you described yesterday. I backflushed from the inlet of the oil cooler to the drive. No problem, water flowed out of all inlet holes. I then had a friend put the muffs on and squeeze. No water came out of the hose (at the oil cooler), all water was coming out of the sides of the muffs no matter how hard they were squeezed. Occasionally, some water would come through, quite a good flow actually for 10 or 20 seconds then just stop.Did this for 15 minutes or so and it never flowed for an appreciable amount of time. There has to be something going on in the tube in the drive.

Was the engine running? The Engine has to be running while you squeeze the muffs...
OR remove the impeller and put the pump cover back on and try again with the engine off....

No. the engine wasn't running. I'm just trying to confirm water can get to the impeller. I disconnected the hose at the transom. Are you saying that 60psi (estimating this when strongly squeezing the muffs) isn't enough pressure to force water to that first connection? Here's a couple videos. Thanks

Looks like you have good flow but when the engine is not running you are pushing against the impeller vanes depending on where they are in the rotation..
When I pulled my inlet hose off, I pulled it off of the front engine goose-neck connection. So as to push water through the oil cooler. you are not going through the oil cooler in the video..
