I don't have the Engine owners manual,what is the maximum opperating RPM that my engine should do, 1997 Volvo Penta 5.7GLi WOT it's running approx 5500 Prop is 14.5 x 19 3 blade Ali |

I had downloaded the engine specs from that model year on the Four Winns website some years ago. It says 4200-4600 rpm for all the 5.7L except 5.7LGSi ( which is 4600-5000 rpm). |

That's not a roller rocker motor, I wouldn't take it beyond 4800. |

I think your tach is wrong, highly doubt you have been running 5500 and keeping the motor together. |
