I've been helping a buddy in the slip next to me work on his boat. When I say helping, I mean holding a light and grabbing beers as needed.
It's not a Four Winns, but volvo engine. He needs new fuel injectors on a 98 5.7gsi engine. The injector is stamped with 25170301 ACR, but so far we haven't been able to cross reference that number anywhere. Volvo says they still have these original injectors, but $700 a set is crazy. I know it's a gm part, but can't find a cross reference or after market number anywhere. Has anyone else came across this?
thanks

Try this site: https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,2823,parttype,6224,a,www.thirdgen.org%2BSearch%2Bfor%2BELECTRICAL%2BSTANDARD%2BMOTOR%2BPRODUCTS Shows injectors for a 2000 5.7, but you can prob re-enter correct year.

Cheaper than $700.00, but not by much. Also has a reference for different prices/vendors in box, in upper left corner of site.

I would not believe they are anything other than stock GM injectors, 5176 I believe is the GM number.

Thanks guys. I have found a few that I think will work, but I need to understand the tbi system better. As I understand it marine applications use larger injectors to make up hp vs truck. So, a marine 5.7gsi would use the same injector as a big block in a truck? Does the computer tell it to spray more or less? Where I get confused is the lbs/hr and at what pressure?

25170301 injectors are marine injectors and can't be found anymore. I have pulled apart about 6 of these TBI units with these exact injectors in them. I sent them off to be cleaned and flow-tested and they are ~760cc/min @ 14.7psi. This is the exact same flow rate as the 5235206 5.7L TBI injectors when tested at 14.7psi.

Hope this helps.
I found that out as well. Its just that they are the true high pressure design like the high pressure 4.3 sized injectors in the 94-95 TBI 454 trucks. The 25170301s ran with a 28-32 PSI regulator and flowed substantially more than the ~760cc/min when running at 32 psi.

I found this here:http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/tbi/440841-big-tbi-injectors.html Its sounds like your on the right track

Also if his injectors aren't electrically damaged could they be sent out to be cleaned?

Some other stuff:

I have found that the typical "90lb" 5235231 injectors don't do well above 30+ psi. The higher the pressure above that the more they "shut" down or lose their flow. "80lb" 17084304 injectors do much better and have a nice linear increase in pressure up to about 40psi then they lose as well.
The 17084304 can be found here under a 1993 Chevy 2500 http://www.shopinjectors.com/fuel-injectors/tb124.htm This place has a help line, maybe he could send his in and have them rebuilt.

As Bliss36 put it. Find a shop to check them and clean them if ok. 150 bucks at the most.
Even if you had one or two bad, it would save a bunch.
