Moved this to a more appropriate forum:

So, on my previous boat, when winterizing the water system, and specifically speaking, the city water supply inlet, I would unscrew the fixture from the boat, pull it out, and unhook the water line from the fixture, and by doing so, remove the check valve preventing the pump from pushing water out of the inlet. I would then go down and flip on the water pump for a short time, to get anti-freeze through the lines and then shut down and reassemble. Fast forward to today, on my new to me 2004 328 Vista, and I do the same thing, but when I turn the pump on, she builds pressure and shuts off, and I still get no water from the city water supply line? Is there another check valve somewhere, or a different way for doing this? Thanks in advance!

So, it appears I located the hang up.. There is, in fact, a back flow preventer on the line, and should be relatively close to the inlet, I just must have not recognized it before.. Discovered this fact in the manual I downloaded from FourWinns.. Yea, I read the manual... lol

do you think that is needed to winterize. when I open the valve for the water inlet it drains into the water system with gravity. I guess better safe than sorry

It's another one of those deals that has multiple opinions. I've always done it, based on the theory, that it had water in it, and when the pump pressurizes the system, it likely pushes water back up there. Gravity itself probably does the trick for you, but I'd just hate to find out the hard way, that it had water in it, and when you flip that pump on in the spring, you have water spraying all over your bilge from split/cracked lines..
