After 8 years in dry dock we have restored our beautiful boat back to her majestic self. The last piece is to replace the gimbal bearing. How hard is it to remove and replace, are there any little tricks to removing it. This boat held up absolutely magnificently. Four Winns always.

I tried it on my 170 and failed to find a way to get it out. I could not find a cheap enough bearing puller to pull that sucker. it's large and can be hard to get to being so far in the transom shield. If you have a way to pull it, it is an easy job.

IMHO, I'd leave it to a volvo mechanic because he can pull it and replace it, but also has the tool needed to check engine alignment.
