I've hit my 20 hours and it is time to change my oil. Unfortunately, I left my manual at my lake house 2 hours away. Anyone know what type of oil filter I should purchase? Is this as simple as going to an auto parts store and telling them 350 Chevy or is there a special filter for it?

Thanks!

Follow-up: I've located a Mercruiser oil filter for this engine at my local marine dealer here in town. Anyone know the answer to my question, though? Can you buy a Fram, Autolite, etc. filter to fit this engine?

Thanks again.

Sure, but I'd stick with the Merc especially being a new boat. NAPA even has a marine cross-reference.

Ya, I went ahead and bought the Merc filter. It was $10. I'm mostly asking for future reference in case I can't get to the marine dealer or something comes up where I'm in a bind.

Thanks for the NAPA tip!
