I have a 1996 195 Sundowner with a 4.3litre engine. I have used it 5 times this year. The first 3 times I had no problems. The 4th time I started feeling vibrations in the steering wheel. I thought I may have bent the prop. So I changed it to the spare and still feel a little vibration. Any thoughts? Ujoints? Gimble? Help!

Could be either gimbal or universals. Give the gimbal a good greasing while the engine is running and see it it quiets down a bit.

If it doesn't quiet down, removing the outdrive for inspection isn't very difficult. Hardest part is lifting the dang thing. There is just no easy way to grab it.

Yep, that's the best way. The gimbal and the universals spin regardless of the boat being in gear. By idling the engine , the bearing is spinning and the grease gets distributed.

Make sure you grease it twice a year and give the bellows a good inspection. Any water that gets in there from a leaking bellows will kill the gimbal.
