I have a 1992 sundowner 225 with a 5.8 omc do you need to remove any thing to get to the spark plugs (Header) or is there a specific tool needed to get to the plugs? Any help would be great

Pretty sure ya don't need to remove the manifolds. First, what type layout do you have around the engine cover (doghouse)? Are the jump seats on either side of the doghouse in the way? Can you remove them? If you can put up a pic or two of the area your working in, that would help.

If you can get a sparkplug socket on the plug, then I'm pretty positive you can get them out with removing the manifold. You might have to put another socket (like a deep dwell) on the spark plug socket to get a rachet or box end wrench on it. Or use a swivel joint to get the angle. Also, if it has been a while since those plugs were changed, spray some WD-40 around the threads and let it sit for an hour or so, that way you won't risk breaking the plug by applying torque at a odd angle.
