| Post subject: | Did I burn up my starter? |
Took my boat to the lake after I've done a few things to try to get it running. Started just fine at the house but when i got to the ramp it wouldn't start. After cranking on it for awhile i heard a funny noise and now when i turn the key it just makes a whining sound. Its not engaging the flywheel. Did I ruin my starter? |

Sounds like the solenoid bit the dust. It can be replaced without replacing the whole starter, but you have to take the starter off to get to it. |
