It is going to freeze in my part of Oklahoma this week so I went down to my new boat today (new to me, it is a 2006 Funship) to drain the water out of my 350 Mag. The manual I have is a SELOC, and it tells me that when I activate the air actuated system with the pump, that water will drain from the distribution housing and the seawater pump. I only noticed water draining from the distribution housing. Is my drain system not functioning properly? When I find videos of this system online (single point - either manual or air actuated), I only see water draining from the distribution housing. So am I good? Thanks! |

That is all I have ever done. Once drained, I refill w/ -50 AF through the hoses, then "pop" the drains just enough to get some pink stuff out and into the bilge. |

I pump the system with air until it begins to drain, then I pull the blue plug near the pump ASAP to vent the system. Once it is done draining from the single point I pull the remaining blue plugs. There are 4 total. I do that just to allow any remaining water to drain out. Once you do that you're done. |

Thanks Paul! I can only find two blue plugs - the one on the distribution housing (on the bottom port side) and the obvious one staring you in the face in the top middle (which I think is on the thermostat housing). Where are the other two plugs on your 350 mag? |

They are both on the water pump itself. I cannot access mine unless I have the pump out already, so I do not. However, I'm not saying that's a good idea either. |

If you can't reach the plug can you disconnect the hose leading to the pump, and drain it that way? This air system is interesting, I have never seen one but I wonder if they are affected by rust flakes that can clog drains. We have this all the time in salt water regions in fact Merc's one point drain would probably have to be removed here because there is no guarantee that it would actually be able to drain all the water. |

Sorry for the late response. The two other plugs are low on the starboard side, under the water pump. If you have enough room and can stick your head in there you'll see them. If not, use a mirror. I don't recall exactly what they are for-whether it is the pump or a fuel cooler or what. Sorry. Someone else may know the answer but I just can't remember. |

One is for the cool fuel system and the other 3 drain water out of the block and exhaust. I was told by my FW dealer never to rely only on the air actuated system for winterization. It can be used for short periods of temps below 32, but nothing long term. I used it more to flush my engine each time so that I don't leave the muddy lake water in the engine. |
