I can't seem to find a similar problem in other postings, so figured I would post a new item When starting up the engine, after it has been sitting a day or so, it starts right up, however, the RPM's and idle continue to increase and the engine sounds like it's sucking air. When I shut off the engine, and start it right back up again, everything is as it should be. It starts right up and the idle levels out and all is good. If I have been docked a couple of hours, or moored somewhere, this behaviour does not happen, the engine starts right up and idles as normal. It only seems to appear at initial startup after sitting a bit. Anyone have any ideas what I should look into or replace ? Thanks in advance -Stephen |

Sounds like the idle control motor is sticking/not working right. |

Next time you wait a day or two between running the engine, have somebody rap the body of the high pressure fuel pump with something (screwdriver handle, etc) while you crank the engine. If you have a fuel pressure gauge, I would also check the fuel pressure after it primes, while you crank the engine, and during the running time where its sucking air real loud. When my high press. fuel pressure pump was going bad it would do this on my 4.3Gi (TBI). I replaced the IAC because it seemed logical. It could still be your IAC, but I'd check that fuel pump first because they do go bad often. |

Thanks gents ! I've looked through the engine documentation and manuals that came with the boat, and can't find reference to those two parts. Being in Canada, I also can't access the US Penta website for parts and diagrams. Any idea where I can find documentation which will tell me where these two parts are located so I can check them out ? Thanks again |

If you can bring it to Campbellford, I can take a look for you. I'm licenced,,,no charge too. I live on the Trent and there's a free launch just around the corner from me. |
