Is there any specific procedure on changing the the fuel/water separator on my engine? Or is it just a matter of spinning the old one off and puting the new one back?

Is there a valve to shut the fuel off or is there any priming procedure before starting the engine?

Thanks

Shut off the batt switch
Put something like a large coffee can (plastic) under the old filter. Use an oil filter wrench to remove it. The anti siphon valve on the gas tank will stop gas from siphoning out of the fuel line. You may spill some though because the old filter will be full up to the top. When putting on the new one:
Coat the gasket with engine oil. Fill the filter as much as much ad you can without spilling gas. Tighten it hand tight. Let any spilled fuel evaporate before turning anything electrical on. If you don't fill it with gas you may have trouble getting it to prime. It's hard for the fuel pump to suck fuel thru the filter. In cars the elec pump is in the gas tank and pushed it thru the filter , not allowed on boats.

Just to add to Lou's. I put a gallon size zip loc bag over the filter then remove it, the bag catches the drips. Be quick before the gas eats the bag though!
