Post subject:  fuel pump HELP needed

My fuel pump started to whine and gave up the ghost on my maiden voyage a couple weeks ago. Whine was load and then it shut down. Would start and run for short time and we limped back in.

The pump quit whining and working altogether. I just installed new complete fuel cell, removed and cleaned fuel regulator which had about 15% blockage on screen with the black paint from old fuel cell.

Filled the fuel filter, purged lines, clean regulator screen and reinstalled and started right up but running rough. The low pressure was at 20psi which is way high. I shut down and checked high side and it pegged the 100 psi guage. I shut it down. Pulled regulatator again and removed screen to ensure nothing on back side. There wasn't...reinstalled and started to check again and high side was now 50 on the nose and ran smooth.

I checked low side and it was around 18ish, which is still high but high side remained at 50, which is very good.

Now what? What could cause low side running high being high side corrected itself I assume. Does regulator influence low side too when high side is spot on?

I assume antisyphon is working since fuel is flowing and high side is correct. Any thoughts?

I would purge the lines a few more times. There is a schrader valve, looks like a bike tire nozzle. I dont remember, there may be one for high side and low side. Without looking i dont remember. When you turn the key to the on position, it kicks pump on for a few seconds. Have you done that a couple times. It will spray gas out when you valve it so be careful where you are when you do it. Also volvo has a bigger fuel filter that i upgraded to if it will fit.

Just replaced my fuel cell a couple of weeks ago. Pressure on the low side was around 17lbs

I'm picking up the Eclip to replace the screen in regulator this week. Seems a notice has been out for 3 years that I missed,
