Is there any way I can tell which propeller set I have on the outdrive? The boat is a 99 Vista with a 5.7 gsi duoprop, but as I am not the original owner I can't really 100% say that they are the original props. My rear prop got a little banged up this weekend and if it can't be reconditioned, it would be nice if I can find a used one to replace it rather than buy a brand new one if I can help it. |

There'll be an F# number ( assuming they're stainless steel) and also an unique VP part number on the outside surface of each hub. The front and rear props will ( or at least should have !) the same F# number. You can look up which props were fitted originally on the FW website (customer service tab then something like "past specs", "fast facts" etc) |

Thanks guys, next time I go down to the boat I will see if I can find the numbers on the props. In the meantime I've looked through my paperwork folder for the boat and found something that may have answered my question and yet leads to more possibly silly questions. After Sandy, there was some prop damage so I had the props reconditioned. The original estimate I had done was for new props and it lists a part #3851494, which I see is an F4 set. I chosed to have them reconditioned instead of purchasing new props and the invoice for that work shows there was a 15 1/2 x 23 prop reconditioned and a 14 1/2 x 22 prop reconditioned. My two questions now are, is the F4 prop set really the prop I want on a 258 vista with a 5.7GSi motor? And is it normal for one prop to be a different size than the other? Thanks ETA: Just checked that fast facts sheet and the F4 prop set is indeed the one they list. |
