can anyone tell me where the impeller is located ? i know i have a water pump on the front of the engine for recirculation, but i am not getting water to the thermostat or to the pump. |

If the drive is OMC Cobra, then the raw water pump is on the back of the outdrive. Just take off the curved plastic cover at the top/back of the drive (3 bolts) and the raw water pump will be right there. Easiest to service of all the drive types. |

You have to figure out if you have the original (86-93) OMC Cobra (drive is flat across the top). Or the joint venture version that has a hump on top (Volvo design). The former has the impeller in the rear of the upper gear housing, the latter has it on the engine like a Volvo. It is possible for a '94 boat to have a '93 engine & drive. |

I have a 94 sundowner with a 93 omc 5.7 and drive. In the shop now for sucking up a bunch of wood which trashed the housing and impeller when we hit a submerged log. |
