put the boat in the water today for the first time this year, had it out for about 4 hours after i got back to the dock i lifted the engine cover to check every thing out i could see a slow drip from the back of the engine. 1 drip about ever 30 seconds. i couldnt see exactly where it was coming from. some where from the bottom of the lower exhaust pipe but not from out drive seal. any one have any thoughts? its a 5.7 cobra .thanks

i looked again tonight, still couldnt see where it was coming from. looks like from between the y pipe and bellhousing but could be running back from y pipe connection and just dripping from that area. if thats the case it looks like it will suck to fix. while i was investigating i did see that my starboard side rear mount was loose

Can you get back there while the engine is running? If it's the exhaust it should drip a lot faster than with the engine off.

Is there and chance it's bellows? Kinda sounds like your drip is higher than the drive shaft but I remember chasing that one in the past and it took a while to find.

i can get fairly close while it is running. next time i go over ill get it up to temp and see if its any faster .when i looked tonight i didnt run the engine. was just looking for water trails. i didnt see any drips. i dont think it would be the bellows i just replaced them last year.

Transom seal or the hose clamps on exhaust are my guess. I had a slow drip once, it turned out to be the exhaust hose clamps. I later had a water fall, turned out to be transom seal.

lets hope its just a exhaust clamp. did you do the transom seal yourself or did you out source the job ?

Didn't replace it, just tightened all the transom mount nuts. Took about 2 hours of blood, cussing, and contortions.....but bone dry now.

i finally got out to the boat tonight. fired it up and the drip did increase in volume and speed wasn't a lot of water .drip is below the drive shaft level and on the back side of the exhaust y pipe . picked up an inspection mirror and going to try and locate source tomorrow
