First Post... but been a long time guest and beneficiary of the forum...goes easy on me! :D

Problem - Starboard engine (5.0L Volvo Penta GXiE) stalls when I shift down into idle ONLY when coming off plane; does not matter if goes direct to idle or take 30 seconds. If I "goose" the throttle I can keep it from stalling and all is good; re-starts "hard" if it stalls like it's flooded. Initial starting is also more difficult than Port Engine as it requires giving throttle versus just starting.

History - boat was purchased as a repo with multiple engine issue with both the Port and Starboard. The Starboard was rebuilt due to having a cracked block due to poor Winterizing. Port had to be pulled for starting issues and backfiring; found that previous owner rebuilt as a 5.7L but did not re-flash the ECM (unfortunately found this out after I rebuilt Starboard... ). This is my second year with the boat and I have been running with Mercury Quickleen to clean the system from sitting for who knows how long....

Thanks for your feedback...

I have read through some, most recently about tapping on to see if the RPM changes meaning it was sticking and cleaning with Carb Cleaner. Would swapping them between the engines be a way to troubleshoot?
