Post subject:  Where is my sea water pump ?

I have a Volvo 5.7 GSI 280HP . I'm wanting to change the sea water impeller but every video or diagram I can find shows the pump on the crankshaft pulley along with the inlet and outlet hoses . Mine isn't designed that way . Where is the pump on this engine? Thanks http://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/360966481 ... -l1000.jpg

See that pulley left of the crank.

Thanks a bunch ! I'm thinking this might be a little more trouble than when it's located on the front of the crankshaft pulley . Especially since I can't find any instructions on the Internet .

1998 it's on the starboard side of the engine. Not til the late 2000's did they switch to the crank style (which is 10000000x easier to work with).

On my 1999/2000, it IS on the Crank.

Don't be deterred - the impeller replacement on our models is easy as pie.
Remove the pump (2 bolts/ 2 hose clamps) and change it on a work bench.

On my 1999 boat as well.

Thanks everyone , I'm going to give it a try . Is there a part number stamped on the impeller so I can be sure to order the right one ?

My 1997 572BPLKR (5.7 GL) has an impeller part number of: 3862281.
It is likely the same part.

My 1999 5.7GS uses Impeller Kit 21213660 (Crank mounted Raw Water Pump).
