Any ideas? New anti siphon, new motor, new distributor, plugs, wires, new fuel hose to tank. The funny thing is if I idle out of marina and try to take off, it will bog down. If i shut it off then restart it will be fine. My next thing is to take out the high pressure pump and look at screen. Any more ideas?

I had the same problem. I too would idle out and when we gave it throttle it would bogg down. Mine was related to vapor lock and my VST. My mechanic cleaned out my VST and so far so good. Also check if you pinched a spark plug wire.

Update...

I finally broke down and bought a new high pressure pump. It seems to have fixed the problem. Here is procedure

Here is inside of old pump. The screw was epoxied closed but i used vicegrips to take it out, unplug harness and pulled right out. You can see the build up in the screen. I thought about cleaning it but i already have the pump and I am tired of working on it. Also the mesh isnt nearly as fine on the new one.

Old pump cleaned up as a spare.

New screen much better

Swap the ends as new pump didn't come with schrader valve to bleed.

All finished, runs a ton better now. Ready for some Lake Erie perch.

Nice work Rick!
I'm thinking of buying a spare mechanical pump for my old OMC; the original pump is still on there....
