I recently upgraded my 5.7GL's 2BBL intake to a 4BBL.
I regretfully painted it last minute with a metallic silver aerosol heat proof paint that hasn't fared too well in a marine environment... :x
It's showing surface corrosion, which is making my OCD go in to overdrive!
Given my intake manifold is cast iron, what's the best method of coating it prior to re-installation?
VHT Enamel? Powdercoat? Electroplate?
Opinions on going a metallic blue or white colour?

Off the top oif my head I am thinking heat is going to accelerate the break down of most coating.
At that point I come to the conclusion this may be something I have to re-coat every 2-3 years.

Now I am thinking self etching primer and a high heat engine paint.

Electroplating with Nickel or Chrome always held up well on my Harley and guns, but they were polished regularly too.
That would be something you could look into.

Epoxies will break down.

Powder coatings don't hold up on my lawn furniture let alone a marine environment.

Hopefully others will chime in with what they have suceeded with.

If you have a cast iron manifold you need to use a rust converter before repainting it to keep that rust from coming back. In salt water it's pretty much a constant battle.
