I have a 1994 Vista with twin 5L EFI. I suspect my temp sending unit is bad. Does the sending unit, which sends a signal to my dash mounted temp gauge, also send temp info to the ECM? Can I test the gauge by shorting across the plug without damaging the ECM? Another big question, I know the engine is above the water line, can I change the sending unit while in the water?
