Hello,

I'm interested in the quality of rebuild propellers.
I'm planning to buy a new prop and I compared the prices of original and solas props already.
I figured out, that the solas are cheaper than the originals and now the question comes up, if there is a difference between both.

Does anybody tested the props.

I need a prop with the dimensions 14 1/2 x 19, aluminium. Solas offer their products for cheap in comparison to Volvo.
Is there any significant difference in quality and performance.

I also recommend props from Michigan Wheel. I had a SS Apolo and it was great.

I've used Michigan Wheel aluminum props exclusively and never had an issue even with salt water mooring every year.

On my old Four Winns I replaced the original Volvo Penta aluminum prop with a Michigan Wheel. I got a little better performance.

In my case yes, same 14.5 X 19 aluminum and the new Michigan Wheel was slightly better performance. Of course part of that could have been that the original was slightly tweaked after 16 years of use but the new one looked like slightly different blade shape.
