Post subject:  winterizing the 351HO Windsor???

Hey Lou (or anyone for that matter)

Ok, can you point my to good engine winterizing procedures for the Ford 351HO Windsor engine (which is what is in my Ski Nautique). When I had that 3.0 there was TONS of info and videos even, and I can't find much of anything for this new V8 of mine. I mean, I know most of it, like add Sta-bil to the fuel tank and top it off. Just looking for good info on where the brass drain plugs are on the block, I see one on each manifold as well. what about the transmission??? I know that I need to fog the carburetor as well.

Just wondering if you know of either a "step by step" either text form or visual/video form. I just want to be sure I am Crossing all my T's and dotting my I's as well.

Dan

I don't think it will be that much different, look for the block drains, should be one on each side, of course disconnect the lower end of the big hose at the front circ pump. Then you have to find a way to drain your raw water intake hose and any power steering, fuel cooler and Trans cooler.
What I do is back fill the engine & manifolds first with -100 marine AF. Then I disconnect the raw water intake hose and fill it with AF till it comes out the water intakes. That should push water out of that hose and the coolers. They may have drains on them also. The thing to look for is low spots where water can accumulate.
Why not check on an owners forum for this boat/engine package?
