I have a 1990 315 Vista with the 5.7L GM 350 engines and Cobra outdrives. My port Gimball Assy trim line manifold block is completely corroded on the outside of the block and one of the four hydraulic trim lines broke off, rendering my drive trim/tilt inoperable. So I found and bought a used entire gimball assy with the trim line manifold block and removed the block no problem. BUT---on my boat which is on land and dry now due to this issue, getting the small round block out is very difficult. The entire outdrive is off and this trim line manifold block is accessible. But it is very hard to see and get to from inside the boat due to the engine in the way. It must be removed in the rearward direction by design. It seems I need to "punch " it out from the front side (inside) the boat, but there is not enough room to get in there and do that. And from outside we have tried to "pull" it out with no luck so far. Today we are going to drill a hole in it from the outside, tap it, and screw a bolt into it and try to pry it out. If anyone has replaced this block before, or has some suggestions, I surely would appreciate any and all advice. I would rather not have to pull the entire engine to gain access from inside.
Thanks for reading and any help you can provide.

The easiest way is to remove the lines from the pump and pull the lines out when you pull that assembly of of the transom. Not easy for sure when the engine is in the way.
