There are two - one on the drive itself near the cavitation plate, and the other on the bottom of the transom shield. I don't have any pics, but I can try to take some if it would help. Presumably you've seen the other recent thread(s) on anodes?

Yep. Search was my friend on this topic. I guess I am looking for specific pictures. Isn't there an annode on the prop too?

Not on a DP. I see some pics I could link to online, but they're all from the wrong angle and they still don't show you where they're located. I'll try to get some pics in the next day or two.

I'm curious - do you have the ACPS option on your boat? It would look like a small panel with some LED's on it, mounted somewhere in the engine bay (probably on the transom). I'm not sure if it even existed in '01, I'm just curious whether you have it.

I don't think so. I do not remember seeing anything like that. Do you see it below?

Dave,

The VP shop manual for the 1999/ WT model year drives shows the 7.4 and 8.2 engines as having the ACPS system fitted, with a different transom shield to that of the smaller engines, I don't know about earlier ones. It's unlikely they would discontinue it, so as your boat dates from later than 1999, it probably has it, or at least had it originally. I don't see the controller in the engine compartment in your pic, might just be hidden away somewhere. Earlier control units look like the one in 230 Mikes photos on another thread, but only had one LED. The cable enters the transom shield on the port side, at the same height that the trim sender cable enters on the starboard.

It might be easier just to check the outdrive; if fitted, from 1999 the reference and active electrodes are in a one piece plastic moulding mounted on the bottom transom shield, on the lower support arm ( along with the 2 ribbed anodes, inboard of the electrodes). If the anodes and/ or the electrodes are missing, this transom shield can be identified by the fact it has 5 bolt heads visible on the lower support, not 3, plus 4 tapped holes. This shield/ electrode pack were still in use until at least late 2003/ 2004: I have them on my 2004 boat ( built very late 2003).

Regards,

Graham
