Post subject:  Water Pressure Sensor Failure?

2008 318, Merc 350 Mag MPI

Last year I got the three beeps on the port engine. Tech found a bad water pressure sensor which was clogged with mud. Not having one on hand, he swapped it with a used one in his shop, cleared the fault and sent me on my way. Everything has been fine since.

Until, I just installed VesselView and can actually see all the readings. The intake pressure on the port engine is 4psi at idle, 6psi at speed. The stbd is in the 40-50psi range. Still, no alarm and both engines run at perfect temperature. Any ideas what's going on here? I know it's worthwhile to change the port sensor for a new one, but if the pressure is so low, why would I not get an alarm or not be overheating?
