I'm at the lake and have a constant squeak that I assume is the gimbal bearing.....i can't find any grease zert anywhere....any ideas where it is if there is one on the 2008 SX vp drives....ive loom port side and all I see is the power tilt trim stuff.

I will be servicing after thus trio but want to hit some grease in there to minimize issues.

Any advice appreciated as I got kids waiting to hit the water

Aren't those gimbals along with the u-joints non-greaseable?

What's the squeak noise like? Is it a chirp at idle or more pronounced?

Solved...the sound was more of a persistent squeaking that progressively worsened throughout the day. When listening under the hood it sounded to be coming from rear of engine compartment. It was loud and audible to rear of boat...not the high pitch whine of fuel pump.

Read of similar issue on another forum. It was solved with 6 dollar investment in a can of belt conditioner. Turned out to be the serpentine belt raising hell. Thankfully dodged a bullet as I woulda sworn it was a bearing.

Regardless...when this season is done the ole gal is getting a new belt and gimbal.

Few squirts on both sides of belt and I put 6 hours on it today without a so much as a chirp

Nice!

Mine has a slight belt chirp at idle after it's been run for a few minutes, but it seems to go away after some higher RPM running.
