What motor? I run those champion plugs in my 01 VP 5.7 GSI. |

Apart from a negative influence on power output ( the spark is not in the optimum place in the combustion chamber), short reach plugs fitted when long reach ones are specified rarely cause engine issues. On the other hand, long reach plugs when short reach are required; well, the piston can potentially touch the spark plug electrode; not good ! |

Check your specs but from what I recall the the pre Vortec gets the short reach; Vortec gets long reach. The pre vortec intake has 12 bolts while the Vortec has only 8. Do not use long reach in a pre vortec. |

I see only 8 bolt holes for the intake manifold therefore it should be a Vortec taking the long reach plugs |
