That's kind of why I want a cheap aluminum rowboat for early and late-season fishing. Something I can beat up and not have to worry about. Keep the FW for cruising, sandbar shenanigans, skiing, etc.

It was. Local roads here on Long Island were clogged for hours. I actually use studded winter tires on our vehicles due to the hills and bad roads in my area. It does not snow that much but when it does, we get strong coastal storms with a lot of wind. Of course I never put the snows on before Christmas because it usually does not start snowing here until after that. I have found with the Jeeps I don't really need the snows for going, its for stopping where it makes a huge difference. Without the snows the antilock brakes will engage much more often, with them, they hardly ever do . |

I put snows on my truck for the same reason. I've always had a car with snow tires up until a few years ago. The first time I drove the truck with the crappy tires it came with in the snow I was like NOPE! Ordered snow tires and wheels as soon as I got to a computer, haha. I wonder if they make snow tires for boat trailers... |

Actually a company in Europe called Nokian makes all different kinds of snow tires, and they make LT rated ones for Euro Vans that may have the right load capacity for a boat trailer. https://www.nokiantyres.com/winter-tyres/nokian-wr-c3/ |

Even though the bays freeze here in Jan/Feb, I have seen guys out in small boats with one guy on the stern working the tiller and one guy on the bow breaking up the ice! Just crazy! |

What we have here in the salt is not aluminum but plywood and 'glass skiffs that have been patched together a few times, real rough work boats and they seem to take more abuse than anything else. |
