In the off season, I'd like to change the steering cable and the throttle cable as they are becoming stiffer. Having an '07 FW Horizon with a 5.0 engine and an SX-A, can anyone who has done this DIY recommend a good instructional guide or video for this? I have a Seloc manual, but it covers such a wide range, I was wondering if there is a better guide or video online I should be using.

Have you tried lubing them first? Usually they will develop play when they need to be replaced.

No, I've not tried lubricating. I was under the assumption it was not possible as the cables run through long sleeves. Has anyone had success with this?
Where would you lubricate and with what? (marine grease?) I would guess you could only hit the ends right before entering the jackets if you tried this... hmmm

I think the engine owner's manual (you can download for free from VP's website) says to lube it annually. Pretty sure the procedure is in there, too. But if yours has never been lubed it's probably corroded further down and needs replacement.
