My mechanic (who is also a good friend) noticed a wear and tear on the drive bellows for my 2005 Vista 298. He is not a Volvo mechanic but can get someone certified to replace the part should we be able to locate them nearby first thing tommorrow. The drives are the OSI Series duo prop. Apparently the plastic ties to the hoses rub against the below when the drive is up (which I do whenever I anchor in shallow water to check the props. It is clear that some water got in but the boat was running fine during last use. Has anyone had this issue. If the drive is regreased, should it be OK. The boat was docked in brackish water if that has any bearing. |

Are you saying that water got in the boat from a hole in the bellows? If so, you need to take care of that right way, water in the bellows area will rust and eventually ruin the gimble bearing and ujoints and turn into an expensive repair. |

Thanks, was able to get the bellows replaced in time for the weekend. Did have to replaced a gimbel bearing. My marina is reporting the defect to Volvo in connection with warranty coverage. He says it is an obvious claim. |
