Post subject: | Engine Hours Meter |
I have a bad feeling that my engine hour meter was tampered with before I bought the boat. After my engine over heated and all the parts that were damaged were replaced, they did an inspection on the heads to see if there were any cracks. What they did find was that the valves had excessive wear. Not typical for an engine of 100 hrs but much, much more. It was a $325 valve job. Is this a common problem with the valves with the 100 hours or did I get a snow job of a sales pitch? |

Unfortunately boats have hour meters and are not regulated like speedos on cars are. Some come with meters some don't. My advise, don't worry about it, get the boat in good running condition and enjoy. Seems to be water under the bridge. |
