Does anybody know the lift expectancy of the risers on these freshwater engines? 415 hours. |

If they have always been in fresh water you shouldn't have any issues. We here up in the Great Lakes/ Georgian Bay very rarely ever have to replace risers |

Those risers might be stainless. My 2002 8.1HO horizons are stainless. Had my engines inspected 2 years ago. needed new gaskets and one manifold was starting to show signs so we replaced it. The manifolds last a long time as well with the closed cooled system. |

You guys in freshwater are lucky. Here in salt water a raw water cooled exhaust is considered disposable. 5-7 years and you have to replace, unless your manifolds are on the closed cooling side. Then again salt water does not rot wood cored transoms! |
