Anyone ever changed there Transom Shield gasket on there own?

I have noticed a slip drip when the top is under the water when we have a lot of people on the back of the boat hanging out at anchor

I have not, but I have run a small bead of sealant around the transom shield of both Volvo I/O boats I have owned. I used 5200 and just a small fillet bead. I pulled the top cap (two bolts) to seal the transom shield, then re-installed. I recognize this is not a replacement for a properly sealed gasket, but I thought it was worth it as an extra measure to guard against a leak. It will be easy to cut the sealant if the transom shield ever needs to be removed. I will have probably started something by mentioning it, but I'm OK with that if it helps anyone else.

Mike, did you leave Bay Port or just swap slips? Haven't seen your boat around this season.

Yes we moved to South Bay Cove. It has a much more resort feeling kind of like a country club, lol

How is the new boat treating you?

Beautiful marina! I would be there except that they have no pool :(

New boat has been great so far! Always lots to do with a used boat to get it to a point where you can be confident, but this season has been amazing "working from home". I've got 60+ hours on it already! Best bang for buck has been new 4-blade props. Wow!
