It appears the Ballistic has been replaced with the Apollo with XHS hub insert and there some good deals out there on the Ballistic. I am curious to know if this Ballistic prop works well on FW boats? Specifically, I have a Horizon 180 with 3.0 VP. Looking at the 14.375 X 21P on my boat as the stock AL prop is 21p. Its my understanding that Volvo props (Solas?) are regarded high but the stainless VP prop is twice as much as the Ballistic. Any advise? Thanks. |

The Ballistic props are not being replaced with the Apollo. There are no plans to discontinue them. The Ballistic props are a performance propeller with slightly thinner blades, and different blade geometry than the Apollo's. If your desire is for pure performance, then go with the Ballistic, if you need durability and longevity with an increase in hole shot over a standard AlMag prop, go with the Apollo. With the Ballistic, you will gain top end and a slight bit better hole shot than a stock AlMag prop. With the Apollo, you will gain holeshot, and might lose a slight bit of top end over your stock prop. |
