This may take a while. Early this spring when I put the voat in, I went to put the props on 5.0 gi volvo duo props omc shift cable and put the shifter in foward and the props were still acting as if they were in neutral. My mechanic said he would adjust the cable. Seemed to work, out of the water. Put the boat in and the shifter was way to tight. Did'nt even have the foward detent. The reverse was ok. A month later had the boat pulled and the shift cable replaced. Adjusted out of water seemed ok. Went out the next week and noticed I had to move the shifter a hair past the detent for forward to engage. Took boat back out of water and adjusted. The third time out I went on a trip docked everthing was fine coming back to the marina the cable got stuck in foward. However, it worked fine there and almost back. Pulled the boat and found the shift lever in fwd but the shifter itself in neutral. The shift lever I can move fwd, rev and neutral by hand. Gears seem fine. The cable itself is attached to the shifter. I am thinking I got a bad shift cable but am not sure. Anyone have this similar proplem? Should'nt the cable replacement be pretty straight foward? I am lost for what is wrong.

perfect timing
