Polished Stainless sterndrive, engine and drive is mounted at a 45 degree angle in the transom.



Launched at IBEX yesterday. Currently being tested buy Pursuit and Chapparal. Hopefully Four Winns is watching........

Those specs and list of standard features are awesome! When they say all 3 current models are available in counter-rotation, I assume they mean for dual-engine applications, and not a counter-rotating single drive. That's the one thing I was hoping to see but didn't. I'd like to see more info on the engines themselves. Based on the tilt and the RPM ranges, I assume they're much closer to OB's than our beloved marinized truck engines.

The tilt mechanism appears much stronger and more reliable (less Rube Goldberg-like?) than the traditional outdrive.

That polished stainless is beyond words!!

Pretty nice.

Nissan engines, stainless drives.
I have to assume that the cost will be a whole lot more than Mercruiser and Volvo Penta.

You'll have to pay for that warranty. I'll bet it won't be cheap.

I really like the idea of using gears rather than uni joints and gimbal bearings - very clever indeed and surprised it was not thought of before.

Anyone else remember the "L" drive from the mid-80's? If I remember correctly, it was the standard stern drive most of us have, combined with a 2 stroke motor in a small engine compartment in the stern. Basically, it was the worst of both worlds.... the maintenance requirements of the less-reliable stern drives of the day coupled with a winey, "add-oil-first" motor-bike engine. I remember them being low on torque, and a PITA.... not suprised when they didn't make it.

That and haven't the Asian manufacturers tried the leisure marine market before, and failed? That and the home office being in South Africa doesn't seem like it'll do a lot to help service issues here in the states. Don't get me wrong, choice is great but not sure I'd want to be a first decade guinea pig for it...
