I have two new bottles of Merc HP Gear Lube+ and was wondering if anyone knows if it's 90 weight API, GL-5? I am sure it has to be, it's for the high perf merc drives (Bravo 1, Bravo X etc) and those are all cone clutch like the Volvo DP-S. I just figured since I have it, if it meets spec for my DP-S I'd use it, if not I will just buy 3Qts of 90 weight GL-5. The local marina does not carry Volvo branded fluids, nor does West Marine! |

I no longer need an answer to this question. I just gave the merc oil to my marina and bought 3 quarts of Valvoline Super Synthetic GL-5. |
