Last weekend noticed an issue with our power steering. 328 vista, twin 5.7ltrs with volvo dps. I understand that only the starboard side motor works the hydraulic acutuator and the fluid and belts look good on both sides.
As I crank up the starboard engine the steering wheel starts to jerk right to left, it feels like the whole engine is shaking?
I shut the engine off and restarted, this time smooth as normal. Got back to the slip and opened the engine covers and tried to repeat what happened. only one other time. Anybody ever heard of anything like this?

I had this issue on a 1999 278 vista with twin 4.3 duo-props. IT would only happen after the fluid was good and hot and backing into a slip with the steering wheel turned all the way left or right. If I remember correctly it would start to shake after you would put it in neutral. if you put it in drive it qiut shaking. There was a tsb on a possible bad run of steering actuators. It only happened a few times so I never did any thing about it. I had not had that broblem on my 2000 328. good luck, Joe.
