Just noticed that one of the tilt/trim hoses is leaking at the fitting to the starboard ram. I haven't determined yet if the fitting just needs to be snugged up, or if the hose is failing. If the hoses need to be replaced, how big a job is that? Should I just have it handled by my mechanic? 2002 214 Funship VP 5.7GI SX Thanks for any advice! Erik |

I replaced one that has a very small leak at the fitting at the ram -- I had to remove the outdrive to get accesss to the fitting on the end at the transom. I suppose you could somehow do it with the drive in place, but it will be difficult. Once the drive was removed it was not too bad --- |

Make sure you have the proper size compression wrench. I nearly had to replace the entire hose because I started to round the fitting on the ram side. I needed to replace the o-rings that make the seal for the fitting because I noticed milky trim fluid and the occational blip of oil rising to the waters surface from the drive area. |
