I have a problem that I have had on my boat for a little time. Sometimes when I just launch the boat the temp will rise and rise. To get the temp back down I can rev the engine and it will immediately come back down. This only happens after I launch the boat. Once the boat has been in the water and restart no problems. Almost like air is in the line. I have replaced the impeller, water pump, and thermostat. I am not sure what else to check and was thinking of a new thermostat housing. Please help before I forget and she overheats. Thanks, Mark 89 Sundowner 305 Chevrolet mschmitty@yahoo.com |

A few things to look at. I always drill a small 1/8" hole in the thermostat if it doesnt have one already there. This helps the air to blead thru the system. If you have ever had a impeller go out check for small peices of rubber that might be sticking somewhere in the system. Pull all the hoses to check for pieces. Also pull the exhaust risers and check there and for corrosion. |
