Can anyone tell me an easy way to hook up a shop tach
to a 2002 5.0 gl volvo penta in a 190 Horizon.

There's not enough room to get to the back of the tachometer
to hook a lead up. Should the whole dash come off or each gauge
separately ? There are 2 screws in the dash but taking them out
really doesn't loosen anything.
I think the other choice is the coil but there isn't any wire exposed.
It's a snap on connection.
Is there some other way I am missing ? Thanks.

If your dash is this style, I have at least 4 if not 6 screws that hold the gage cluster in. Once screws have been removed, whole thing falls forward and you will be able to get to each gage.

powellcrazy,

Yeah, that's what mine looks like it should do. But I take
the 2 screws out ( near top )and the cluster is just as tight. I don't really
want to take a crowbar to it until I'm sure what's gonna come out.
