I recently ordered, and received, a Turning Point Legacy Aluminum Propeller - 14-1/4 x 17, along with the Turning Point MasterTORQUE Hub Kit - 504, that, according to the "propeller wizard", was the correct hub kit for our 1997 200 Horizon (5.7, SX outdrive). I went to put it on last weekend - no problem pulling the old prop off, or installing the new hub in the new prop, but... When I slid the new prop onto the splines, and then, according to the instructions, put the prop nut spacer on before the prop nut, it only leaves enough threads for the prop nut to screw on "even" with the end of the prop shaft. Thus, I can't get the cotter pin in, much less the prop nut "cover". Here's the link to the install instructions: http://www.turningpointpropellers.com/IMAGES/hub_504_inst.pdf So, any advice? |

I shouldn't have? No reason other than just wanting to try it. I'm going to be purchasing a few more props over the next few months for spares and for different applications (e.g. water skiing, cruising, tube pulling). |

IIRC. when I got our Michigan prop with the hub I had the same problem but what the issue was that the hub had to be seated into the prop. I kept tightening it up until the hub was completely in the prop. then all was good. But like I said, If I Remember Correctly. |

That's exactly what I was wondering, whether or not I really seated the prop nut. I was using the "plastic" prop wrench and when I felt it couldn't go anymore I stopped. Bet I need to use a regular rachet and socket. |
