Post subject: | Electrical Problem 240 Horizon |
I jump started my 1995 240 Horizon today (from one of the portable packs, not a car). After the jump, there is a problem in the positive power cable. No power goes through the postive cable to the fuse block. I ran a 2nd (temporary) cable from the POS battery to the POS fuse block, and everything works fine. Once I get the boat started, everything works fine. With the ignition off, and no 2nd cable, no ignition, no blower, bilge pump, etc. No power to the fuse panel at all. I checked the (50A?) fuse which is in the POS cable right after the battery, and it is OK. Is there another fuse inline anywhere between the battery and the POS fuse box? Is there anything else anyone can think of that might cause this to happen? Thanks in advance! |

Should be just the Helm Power Circuit Breaker. Are you sure you are getting power out of that CB? When you say "fuse" I assume you are refering to the Helm Power Safety (CB or Fuse, not sure which you particularly have), which should be close to the battery. From the drawings for my boat, that's the only interrupt between the Batt and the Pos (+) at the hlem circuit (fuse) panel. |

I found the circuit breaker near the starter. There are actually 3 of them on my boat. I could see two of them, but (of course) not the one that was tripped. Found that - I think that fixed everything. Thanks for the advice!! Flat water and straight lines! -Jim |
